About the Artist
Herzl Kashetsky was born in Saint John, New Brunswick. After graduating with a BFA from Concordia University in 1972, he moved back to Saint John to begin his artistic career.
His art is represented in the permanent collections of the Canada Council Art Bank (ON), the Robert McLaughlin Gallery (ON), the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour Diploma Collection (ON), the New Brunswick Art Bank, the New Brunswick Museum, the Beaverbrook Art Gallery (NB), the Confederation Art Gallery (PEI), as well as many national corporate and private collections.
Awards received include an Honorary Doctorate from the University of New Brunswick for artistic achievement, the New Brunswick Strathbutler Award for excellence in Visual Arts, the New Brunswick Red Cross Humanitarian Award in recognition of humanitarian themes, the Canada 125th Commemorative Medal for outstanding artistic contribution, and the Best In Show 53rd Annual Exhibition of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour.
